On February 25 in Simferopol there took place around table of parents, teachers, social workers, psychologists, doctors on the subject: "Special needs child in the society.
On February 24-25, there took place Second All-Ukrainian scientific seminar "Scientific and methodological principles of implementation of Ukrainian Sign Language in the educational process” organized by the Institute of Special Pedagogy of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (Laboratory for Sign Language) with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ukrainian Society of the Deaf, Ukrainian-Canadian alliance for the deaf and hard of hearing, Association of Deaf Teachers, Council of Interpreters of sign language in Ukraine. Essential issues of content and peculiarities of organization of lessons of Ukrainian sign language in different classes were discussed. The conference held a roundtable discussion with representatives of pilot schools, partner universities of Lviv and Simferopol on the planning the steps for the introduction of sign language for children, parents and teachers of pilot schools.
On February 24, 2010 at the NEC Makarenko School-Lyceum № 3 teaching staff took part in II All-Ukrainian scientific seminar "Scientific and methodological principles of implementation of sign language in the educational process.
On February 22, 2010 on TV channel STB telecasted a program on the problems of people and children with disabilities that discussed the issues of inclusive education and presentation of the project in Sevastopol by A. Shakhov.
On February 22, 2010 the Chairman of city PMPK T.Petlyuchenko spoke at the advisory and methodological meeting of the chairmen of PMPK of Autonomous Republic of the Crimea on the subject: "From inclusive education to equal opportunities for Children with disabilities. Information about the positive experiences of implementation of inclusive education in secondary schools”
On February 19, 2010, there took place a working meeting in Lviv Regional Council. Present: Deputies Ya.Hrybalskyy and L.Kozak, Head of Education and Science Department of Lviv City Council N.Oksenchuk, specialist of Education and Science Department of Lviv City Council Lubomyr Voinovych and L.I.Soltys. They discussed a question of transfer of children with hearing impairment from pre-school № 35 to special boarding school № 101, which has a Center of Early Care for Children With Impaired Hearing and it is possible to organize a pre-school group.
On February 1-12 in Makarenko School-Lyceum № 3 (Simferopol) there was created a portfolio for children with special needs in the pilot class 1-B.
On February 10-11 in NEC School-Lyceum № 3 of Simferopol was held a working meeting with the leadership group of inclusive education in the school as a part of the course “Development of practice of inclusive education”, which is taught to the teachers of this school. Urgent issues of inclusive education model, questions of leadership in inclusive schools, state of speech development of schoolchildren were discussed and appropriate advice was given during the meeting. The meeting also planned a program of the final roundtable discussion on the course for teachers on March 24-25, 2010.
There took place training sessions for the leaders of NGOs, representatives of state structures, schools, educators within “Social Policy” component in Lviv (February 9 - February 10, 2010) and in Yevpatoria (February 2 - February 5, 2010)
On February 8-9 in Simferopol with parents of children there was conducted a monitoring of kindergarten № 79 to study the needs of children and families.
On February 3-5 in Evpatoria there took place a training/seminar in “Social Policy in Education” component.
On February 4 in the Crimean Republican Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education there was held city seminar for the principals of schools “Preparations for conducting monitoring of teaching children with disabilities in city schools”.
In February in Lviv region there took place two training seminars (“Social Policy” and “Civil Society” components).
